Environmental Product Declarations
EPD stands for Environmental Product Declaration. It is a standardized and verified document that provides information about the environmental impact of a specific product, from raw materials to disposal.
The declaration covers aspects such as energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, air and water pollution, waste generation, and more. The goal of an EPD is to provide transparent and reliable information to help architects, engineers, building owners, and others make informed decisions about the sustainability of different products and materials. EPDs are developed in accordance with international standards, such as ISO 14025 and EN 15804, and are verified by independent third-party organizations such as British Research Establishment (BRE) in the UK.
SFS NVELOPE® EPDs
We are proud to announce that SFS NVELOPE® products have recently been awarded an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for our mill finish aluminium bracket and rail products. This verified Life Cycle Assessment recognises our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility in all aspects of our business.
The EPD provides detailed information on the environmental impact of our aluminium bracket and rail products, focusing on the manufacturing process, called cradle-to-gate. The life cycle assessment was undertaken by BRE to EN 15804 + A1 involving a thorough assessment of our products and processes, which demonstrates our commitment to transparency and accountability in our operations.
