NV7 Rainscreen Subframe System

NV7 is an NVELOPE® subframe system suitable for supporting cassettes

NV7 is the NVELOPE subframe system suitable for concealed fix cassette (ACM / zinc / aluminium).

NVELOPE Project Builder / Thermal Builder Calculations

Features

  • NV7 is the NVELOPE system for concealed fix cassette (ACM / zinc / aluminium).
  • Secured using cassette hangers to provide a concealed fixing.
  • NVELOPE sliding point brackets absorb wind loading and allow for expansion and contraction.
  • NVELOPE fixed point brackets absorb both vertical dead loads.
  • NVELOPE bracket spacing should be determined from project-specific calculations, taking into account factors such as panel dimensions, panel weight, substrate and local wind loads.

Material

Material selection is an important consideration in the construction of a rainscreen support system. It can affect the thermal performance of the overall rainscreen system, as well as structural performance.

Aluminium

  • Aluminium subframe systems for rainscreen are designed in accordance with Eurocodes 3 & 9.
  • Aluminum is the second most widely used metal after iron and as such has a robust and well defined UK and international supply chain
  • Its low weight and high strength ratio and simplicity of fabrication either on site or within a manufacturing setting makes it a suitable material with which to create rainscreen subframe systems for cladding applications.
  • Aluminium offers corrosion resistance, which can be complemented by additional treatment including anodization whilst still maintaining a Euroclass A1 fire rating. Refer to the relevant product documentation for applicable reaction to fire classification.
  • NVELOPE systems use 6005 T6 alloy, selected for its strength and performance characteristics when compared with other commonly used aluminium alloys.

Stainless Steel

  • Stainless steelĀ subframe systems for rainscreen are designed in accordance with Eurocodes 3 & 9.
  • NVELOPE stainless steel brackets are manufactured from 316 grade alloy, selected for its resistance to localised corrosion in environments such as maritime and polluted areas.

Sustainability

Sustainability requirements are an important consideration in the design of any building. Identifying the appropriate material from a manufacturer with documented supply chain and sourcing information is important for project decision-making. At SFS:

  • NVELOPEĀ® rainscreen subframe systems are predominantly made from high-strength 6005A T6 alloy, which in many applications offers higher load performance compared with the more usual 6063 alloys.
  • All our 6005 alloy is sourced from extrusions manufactured from low-carbon aluminium, typically producing only 4 kg of carbon per 1 kg of metal.
  • Our low-carbon alloy is manufactured from metal which, on average, constitutes 60% pre- and post-consumer scrap.
  • SFS NVELOPE provides further details on our carbon footprint in relation to our alloy in our Environmental Product Declaration.

Options

  • Utilising Project Builder Thermal, SFS can support project-specific assessment of thermal performance and budget requirements. Whether a lower or a higher thermal performance is required ourĀ Thermal Solutions range offers the ability to fine tune your project requirements.
  • NVELOPE brackets allow for adjustment between the face of the primary support to outer face of vertical profiles.
  • Green isolators, made from hard polypropylene, are assembled as standard. These isolators are used to support reduced thermal bridging within the calculated design.
