NVELOPE® Thermal Solutions

Optimised solutions, superior performance

To create the ideal thermal design for your project, you need to consider a number of key areas including: fire safety, thermal performance and heat loss, type and sustainability of materials, physical constraints, location and budget.

To get the ideal thermal solution for your project that balances all these key areas can be tricky. However, SFS Thermal Solutions makes this process much easier, operating across the wide range of NVELOPE® rainscreen subframe systems and utilises the proven technology of Project Builder Thermal to enable any project to be optimised for performance and budget. Whether a lower or a higher thermal performance is required our Thermal Solutions has the ability to fine tune your project requirements.

New call-to-action

Bridging the thermal performance gap

Utilising its UK Patent Pending technology SFS have been able to create a high performing solution that guards against thermal degradation due to compression of the thermal pad, ensuring no loss in thermal performance. This combined with the bracket material choice of Aluminium or Stainless Steel ensures that a full range of tailored solutions can be created for any project.

Features & Benefits

  • Assembly: All systems from the Thermal Solutions range come pre-assembled to reduce the risk of incorrect installation helping to save you time on re-work or assembly on site.
  • Overlay and optimised cutting service: NVELOPE Thermal Solutions further improves efficiencies through the overlay and optimised cutting service - reducing time and material waste on site by cutting rails to the specific lengths you need.
  • Full technical support: As with all NVELOPE products we offer full technical support.
  • Warranty: As with all NVELOPE products we offer an industry leading warranty.
  • Project Builder solutions: Project Builder is the leading software of its kind on the market today and is free to use. The software provides optimised system specifications and budget costing for your project, often within 24hrs. Project Builder makes specifying the right solution simple, providing a free project-specific PDF complete with: List pricing per M2, static calculations, NBS specification and thermal values.
  • Reduced performance gap: Non-compressible insulation pad on the NVELOPE VB+Thermal, NVELOPE HB+Thermal and the NVELOPE NVS+Thermal products reduces the effects from thermal degradation due to compression of the insulating pad. This helps to reduce the performance gap from design to real world installation.

NVELOPE® VB & HB range fitted with plastic isolators

Aluminium brackets are supplied with a green plastic ‘isolator’. The isolator offers a degree of thermal benefit, but its principal function is to eliminate any potential galvanic corrosion between masonry and aluminium substrates.

NVELOPE® VB & HB + Thermal range

The thermal conductivity of aluminium means point thermal bridging heat losses through aluminium brackets are significant. The thermal pad not only works to counteract those heat losses, it is also utilises SFS’ unique technology that means the insulation is not compressed during installation of the bracket.

NVELOPE® NVS range

Made from 316 grade stainless steel, these brackets offer corrosion resistance in addition to a lower thermal conductivity. As a result, no isolator is required to separate the bracket from the substrate.

The ‘ultimate’ solution for optimised thermal performance, the lower thermal conductivity

of stainless steel is combined with the non-compressible thermal pad to achieve lower external wall U-values.

Try Thermal Builder to find your thermal solution

U-values are the starting point when specifying thermal effects of the building envelope. Rainscreen subframe brackets are a potential source for 'Thermal Bridging' or more accurately termed 'Thermal Point Loss' within a façade.

To help identify the optimised solution, SFS have Project Builder and Thermal Builder which can support and offer guidance with regards to reducing the thermal impact by taking your project details and create specific thermal calculations. Based on your project’s unique wall build-up configuration, we can dynamically calculate the required subframe build up to achieve your target U-value. Try it here!

NVELOPE® Thermal Solutions

Project-specific solutions

To develop an appropriate thermal approach for your project, you need to consider a number of key areas including: fire safety, thermal performance, heat loss, material selection, sustainability requirements, physical constraints, location and budget.

Selecting an appropriate thermal solution that balances technical and commercial factors can prove tricky.

SFS Thermal Solutions supports this process, operating across the wide range of NVELOPE® rainscreen subframe systems. It uses Project Builder Thermal to generate project-specific thermal calculations based on the information entered. Whether a lower or a higher thermal performance is required our Thermal Solutions has the ability to fine tune your project requirements.

Bridging the thermal performance gap

Utilising its UK Patent Pending technology SFS have been able to create a solution that limits thermal degradation due to compression of the thermal pad. This combined with the bracket material choice of Aluminium or Stainless Steel allows for a full range of tailored solutions can be created for any project.

Features & Benefits

  • Assembly: All systems from the Thermal Solutions range come pre-assembled, reducing the number of components that need to be assembled on site.
  • Overlay and cutting service: NVELOPE Thermal Solutions overlay and optimised cutting service helps reduce time and material waste on site by cutting rails to the specific lengths you need.
  • Full technical support: As with all NVELOPE products we offer technical support.
  • Warranty: Warranty information is available for NVELOPE products, including details of cover, conditions and exclusions.
  • Project Builder solutions: Project Builder is a free-to-use specification support tool. The software provides project-specific system outputs and budget costing information for your project. Project Builder supports the specification process by generating a free project-specific PDF including: List pricing per M2, static calculations, NBS specification and thermal values.
  • Supports reduced performance gap: Non-compressible insulation pad on the NVELOPE VB+Thermal, NVELOPE HB+Thermal and the NVELOPE NVS+Thermal products limits the effects of thermal degradation due to compression of the insulating pad. This helps reduce the gap between calculated performance and installed performance, subject to correct specification and installation.

NVELOPE® VB & HB range fitted with plastic isolators

Aluminium brackets are supplied with a green plastic ‘isolator’. The isolator provides separation between the aluminium bracket and substrate and may contribute to thermal performance, depending on the wall build-up, but its principal function is to reduce any potential galvanic corrosion between masonry and aluminium substrates.

NVELOPE® VB & HB + Thermal range

The thermal conductivity of aluminium means aluminium brackets can contribute to point thermal bridging heat losses. The thermal pad helps reduce point thermal losses through the bracket. It also utilises SFS thermal pad technology that is designed to limit compression of the thermal pad during installation.

Made from 316 grade stainless steel, these brackets offer corrosion resistance in addition to a lower thermal conductivity. As a result, no isolator is required to separate the bracket from the substrate.
